Sedbergh is a delightful old fashioned market town with quality shops and pubs nestled amongst its quaint old streets. Sedbergh is located at the foot of the stunning Howgill Fells where the River Rawthey flows by on its way to meet the River Lune.

Shopping is available locally in Sedbergh or alternatively the major towns and cities of Kendal, Penrith, Lancaster and Carlisle are only a short drive away.

Sedbergh is an ideal place from which to explore the spectacular local countryside as well as the ancient villages and towns of the region. The area provides a variety of walks on the fells which can provide a challenge for both novice and experienced walker alike.

As Sedbergh is only 5 miles away from the M6 motorway both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District are easily accessible offering further picturesque countryside, fell walking and many other activities to suit all ages.

Sporting and health club facilities are available in Kendal and Lancaster while golf is available at a large number of challenging golf courses with the area. The River Rawthey provides for many water activities including excellent fishing which is also available throughout the area. Pony trekking and tennis courts are available locally.

A frequent local bus service is available from Sedbergh and the nearest main line train station is in either Kendal or Penrith.
